Dimensions and capacity
Bedroom length 210 cm
Width 120 cm
Indoor height 108 cm (at its highest)
Total tent height 120 cm
Two side porches (storage space between the bedroom and flysheet) 60 cm wide can each hold a 50 to 70 litre backpack, mountain equipment as well as a pair of hiking shoes.
2 pockets in the bedroom. 1 inside top hook to hang a lamp and an adjustable lengthwise clothesline.
Structure, poles and pegs
7001 aluminium poles. Ø 8.5 mm dome; Ø 9.5 mm top pole.
Lightness and strength of aluminium.
Tent pegs:
Length 17 cm, Ø 6.1 mm.
7075 non-anodised aluminium for better resistance and maximum lightness with a lower environmental impact.
Traditional dome shape with self-standing structure gives good resistance. Top pole provides volume and therefore capacity.
Pitching/folding
Extremely quick to pitch and fold.
Pre-assembled flysheet and bedroom. Insert the tent poles into the flysheet (colour coded). It’s also quick to take the tent down.
To store the tent in its bag, fold the tent in half to about the length of the bag, fold up the pole into a bundle onto the bedroom and flysheet, roll everything up tightly to slide into the bag.
Waterproofing
Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/m²/hour (4 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group.
75 denier polyester flysheet, polyurethane-coated (inside) water-repellent treatment (exterior), P75D bedroom floor sheet.
Seams sealed with thermo-bonded strips.
Multi-component bedroom (P66D) combining breathability, wind protection and condensation prevention.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To guarantee its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.
Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. There is good ventilation at the front of the tent as well as ventilation at the feet.
To limit condensation inside the tent, it must be correctly assembled, canvas taut, but not excessively so. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits the humidity inside.
Seasons
3 seasons tent: your tent will protect you from difficult weather conditions that you may encounter in spring, summer or autumn. The tent will withstand light snowfall but is not designed for heavy loads that would weigh on its structure.
When it snows, shake your tent regularly to make the snow fall to the ground and avoid too much weight being supported by your tent’s structure.
Eco-designed tent
For the fabric of this tent we have used a thread called “bi-ton”.
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this impact on the environment, we use only one mass-dyed yarn out of every two, and thus reduce our consumption and our impact on water.
Eco-designed tent (continued)
The pegs are non-anodised. We have eliminated the use of nitric and phosphoric acid for colour since it only has an aesthetic effect.
The pegs can appear “rough” or “used” but they keep all their technical properties and their resistance.
These factors help to limit the environmental impact of your product.
