Why wear this knee brace?
It may be recommended to wear this knee support brace when returning to sport after a minor sprain (stretching without tearing), in case of ligament instability, chronic instability, or apprehension.
It helps to limit harmful forward movements that may arise with ligament-related knee instabilities. The blocked knit provides effective knee support without the need for elastic straps, which typically cause discomfort in the popliteal fossa area.
What is a sprain?
Knee sprains occur when you stretch or tear of one or more knee ligaments.the medial collateral ligament (MCL), the lateral collateral ligament (LCL), the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
A mild sprain arises when the ligaments have been stretched. The sprain is of moderate severity when one or more ligaments is partially torn.Severe sprains correspond to a complete rupture of one of the ligaments.
What size of knee brace to choose?
Measure your thigh circumference, 8 cm above the centre of the kneecap.Check the measured value against the following size chart:
Size 1: 36 - 39 cm
Size 2:39 - 43 cm
Size 3:43 - 47 cm
Size 4:47 - 51 cm
Why protect your knees?
Knees are major joints that undergo significant strain during sports activities.Since they play a cushioning, stabilising role, your knees must withstand heavy stresses, especially when running, jumping, landing, and changing direction. Additionally, falling when you're on skis can be particularly dangerous for the knees.
